L'histoire raconte... Un marionnettiste et sa drôle d'assistante, assemblent sous les yeux des spectateurs une silhouette étrange et lui donnent vie, pour raconter la terrible histoire de Frankenstein.
La créature est attirée par le monde et s'invite à la fête. Inconsciente de son apparence physique - un bricolage de membres et d'organes fraîchement découpés, elle déclenche la panique chez la populace jusqu'au chaos général. Fuyante, solitaire, désespérée, en quête d'amitié et réconfort, la créature se lie d'amitié avec deux enfants, un musicien puis un vieil ours. Mais ce bonheur lui sera vite arraché par la foule enragée, la poussant à la révolte.
Partagée entre l'envie de raconter une histoire dramatique et le plaisir de boire du thé ( au grand désespoir du marionnettiste ! ) l’assistante va jusqu’à décrocher la lune pour réconforter la créature !
The story tells... A puppeteer and his rather offbeat assistant… create before your very eyes a freakish silhouette puppet and…bring it to life to tell the extraordinary story of "Frankenstein"...
Enticed by the world around him, this "outlandish creature" discovers a social gathering and decides he would like to be part of it! But… in total unawareness of his unusual physical appearance - made out of freshly cut-up organs and limbs - he sparks panic among the public, creating a general chaos. He is chased away and ends up feeling baffled, desperate and lonely. Whilst looking for a bit of friendship and comfort… he falls upon two children, a musician and an old bear who soon become his friends. But the raging mob do not give up and continue to hunt him down … his peace and happiness is shortlived… pushed to the edge he becomes a mutineer! .
Torn between telling this dramatic story and, on the other hand, just enjoying a nice cup of brew and a biscuit,(much to the despair of Charles!) the unconventional assistant Victoria will go to any length to confort this unorthodox creature

On aimerait que... cette histoire amène par sa forme fraiche de théâtre d'ombres, et par son jeu d'acteur comique, le spectateur à explorer le thème pertinent de l'exclusion et du rejet de la différence. Mon ami le monstre est un spectacle comique, sensible et absurde de marionnettes d'ombres. Les comédiens apparaissent sur scène et se confondent avec les écrans, ils jouent à faire peur, cherchant avec espièglerie le plaisir du frisson.
My friend the Monster… Mon Ami le Monstre, based on Mary Shelley's novel Frankenstein, explores through a fresh visual poetic form of shadow puppetry and physical comedy ,the pertinent theme of forced exclusion . When being different leads to rejection . Our aim is to question and highlight this universal topic . A comical , sensitive and absurd puppet show, where the actors perform both in front and behind the screens ,doing their playful utmost to scare their public, the pleasure of a thrill !
